About Wes

Robert W. "Wes" Mayles, Jr. has been a Culpeper resident for 13 years, originally being from Western Pennsylvania. Of this time, he has worked in Culpeper for over a decade. The majority of his experience in Culpeper has been in human resources working for large, locally operated employers. Wes served on the Board of Directors for the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce as well as sat on their Major Industry Advisory Council and Young Professionals Committee. Through this, he earned the opportunity to lead the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce as President/CEO for two years.

During his time in Culpeper, Wes learned a wealth of knowledge about the local economy, businesses, and government and the balance it takes between all of the sectors in order to function.  He has served as a board member for the Virginia Career Works - Piedmont Region, worked with local non-profit organizations, sat on economic development committees, as well as volunteered with local organizations.

Wes is quoted saying, "Culpeper is where my wife and I both work and live and where our son goes to school. This community has given me so much opportunity for personal and professional growth, and now I want to give back." His commitment is to bring the focus back to Culpeper and give attention to what matters locally.
